In case you missed it…Oprah Winfrey held a special panel discussion on education in September. The discussion stemmed in part from the somewhat criticized documentary film, Waiting for Superman. Co-written and directed by Academy Award Winning director and producer Davis Guggenheim, the documentary analyzes education in America by looking at successful charter schools and what they are doing that failing public schools aren’t. In the film, 5 families look to improve their children’s chances of becoming successful by entering them in highly competitive school lotteries. In the Oprah video segment, Gov. Chris Christie, Mayor Cory Booker, Geoffrey Canada and Mark Zuckerberg discuss education, and attempt answer the question,
“What would you do today to improve education in our country?” I would love to hear any of your answers to that question. Check out the video.
